Submission of applications for granting Online Gaming Licenses and Suitability Licenses via HGC’s Information System


The Hellenic Gaming Commission announces that all legal entities interested in applying for Online Gaming Licenses, according to the provisions of Law 4002/2011 (GG A 180) and ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79835 ΕΞ 2020/24.07.2020 (GG Β 3265) and have not yet submitted the relevant application, may submit their application via HGC’s Information System.

The applicants for an Online Gaming License, following the successful submission of their application, should then submit it, accompanied with all the required documentation, in hard copy, at the following address: 17 Acharnon Street and Mavrokordatou Square, GR 104 38, Athens. HGC’s Protocol Office operates daily, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m..

Furthermore, the interested parties are invited to electronically submit their applications for the following categories:

  1. Suitability License for Shareholders, according to Article 3 of ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79305 ΕΞ 2020/23.7.2020 (GG Β 3262).
  2. Suitability License for persons who perform Key Functions, according to Article 6 of ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79305 ΕΞ 2020/23.7.2020 (GG Β 3262).
  3. Suitability License for Manufacturers, according to Article 9 of ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79305 ΕΞ 2020/23.7.2020 (GG Β 3262).
  4. Suitability License for Technicians, according to Article 11 of ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79305 ΕΞ 2020/23.7.2020 (GG Β 3262).
  5. Recognition of Certification Bodies, according to Article 16 of ministerial decision of the Minister of Finance numbered 79305 ΕΞ 2020/23.7.2020 (GG Β 3262).

It is noted that applicants for Online Gaming Licenses must successfully complete the relevant electronic submissions prior to the submission of applications for Suitability License for Shareholders and Suitability License for persons who perform Key Functions.

All the required documentation for the applications of the categories a through e, are submitted electronically. In case that for technical reasons the electronic submission of the documents is not possible and/or in case that the required documents should bear an Apostille, the applicants are obliged to submit them, in hard copy, at the above mentioned post address.

HGC’s Information System will be soon ready to support more categories of applications for Suitability Licenses, for which all interesting parties will be informed by a new announcement.
